It is not all bad working on the day that the majority of New Zealanders enjoy off the clock.
Employment law advocate Danny Gelb says that people at work on the Queen's Birthday public holiday are entitled to 50 per cent more pay on top of the hours worked, no questions asked.
If you are working on Monday and it is a day you would typically be at work, employment law states that you must be given an entire paid day off, also known as a day in lieu.
Gelb said even if an employee worked a few hours on Monday, they were entitled to a whole day off as a delayed public holiday.
