OPINION: I was blissfully ignorant of my loan as a student.
It was only when I started working that I surrendered to my responsibilities and calculated how long it would take me to pay it back.
Bold statements by politicians to wipe out student loans and roll out free tertiary education for the future university goers was like rubbing salt into wounds when the Inland Revenue repayment calculator said it would take me 11 years at my current level of contribution.
