Millennial Money: Let's start with KiwiSaver

Millennials are accused of being unwise with money. Four young Stuff business reporters will share the fruits of their knowledge - and we're not talking avocados.

Millennials. The broadly brushed 18 to 35-year-old cohort of the late 1980s and 90s aren't all unimpressed, moody hipsters.

Peculiarly, some of us also share the same responsibilities of rent, bills and subscriptions as any other generation previous (albeit with Netflix instead of the TV Guide), so when we need to save, we save.

We're the first to admit that we may not be the best to save long term - you know retirement isn't the first thing we think about when we're burdened with student loans - but that's where the Government is lending a helping hand with KiwiSaver.
