Consumers have to keep their wits about them to protect themselves from the dodgy traders and sharp practices they could fall prey to.
The Commerce Commission has released its Consumer Issues Report, detailing the kind of abuses consumers call it to complain about.
The report is prepared to help the commission work out where to focus its investigations, but it also puts the public on notice of the kind of practises consumers should be on the look-out for.
Dodgy lenders, lying debt collectors, the mis-selling extended warranties, and below par building supplies are among the threats consumers need to be on guard against.
