Taking on the fast food giants in South Auckland

In South Auckland, a small business owned by two friends is creating a stir. Owner Manas Nanda tells why he thinks serving mouth-watering dishes inspired by mums around the world is the best recipe for success.

I am a foodie. Food has always been a huge part of my life. I used to love seeing my mum and grandma in the kitchen, cooking amazing delicacies.

It was a humble Indian childhood, but it was one nourished by delicate spices and mind-blowing flavours.

In India, a good chunk of the population lives below the poverty line. Even as a child, I knew there was a significant economic difference between the rich and the poor in my small town. Many kids miss out on basic needs like food, shelter and clean water.
