Most people don't relish buying insurance. It's something you wish you didn't have to pay for, to cover you in case something happens that you really want to avoid.
But while lots of policies are extremely important – yuo shouldn't be driving without at least third-party car insurance, for one – there are some that are just not worth the money you pay for them.
Redundancy cover
Redundancy cover pays a monthly sum for a set period of time, if you're made redundant from your job. Sounds good, right? For anyone with a mortgage, the idea of losing your job and struggling to find another for a few months is pretty scary.
The problem with redundancy cover is that it is very hard to get a policy to pay out.
