I was rummaging through my random recipe file the other day, trying to find the clipping for a gorgeous cake that contains my favourite baking ingredients of brandy, prunes, chocolate and orange zest. I'd spotted it more than a decade ago in a newspaper and knew immediately that it was a winner.
