Auckland gallery Objectspace setting its sights on expansion

Does New Zealand's future exist in design? Its domesticware, architecture, graphic design, furniture, fashion and technology?

Kim Paton, director of Objectspace, New Zealand's public gallery dedicated to craft, applied arts and design, vigorously argues that it does.  She is not alone.

Creative New Zealand has recently increased its annual funding for Objectspace, stepping up its leadership role and nurturing, not only contemporary craft and design, but also architecture.

Objectspace is embarking upon significant changes that have recently seen it move from its modest premises at 8 Ponsonby Road in Auckland to more extensive spaces at 13 Rose Road in Grey Lynn, with two main galleries and additional spaces for public programmes and events.
