Venice Beach. The name conjures up imagery of surfers, skateboarders and artists. But these days, this laid-back Los Angeles neighbourhood is becoming known as a haven of uniquely designed homes. Architecture has been part of Venice's story since the early years and noted architect Frank Gehry has designed several well-known properties in the area including the compound once owned by Dennis Hopper.
