Kay Peterson is no stranger to the vicissitudes of gardening on Waiheke Island: rabbits, pukeko, rats, the ground mainly clay with limited topsoil, major weed infestations, torrents of rain-water run off in winter, then baking hot in summer with only tank water to irrigate the garden. But Kay is not the type to let a few minor issues curb her creative instincts.
