How to use rocks as a feature in your garden

Want a focal point for your garden? Or perhaps your looking for a cost-effective way to add character to a sloping plot? Rocks could be the answer.

Rocks improve with age as moss and lichen grow on their surfaces and plants around them. With time they disappear into a garden setting, so think big, and don't worry if they seem huge when first placed on site.

Most regions of New Zealand have local rock, so it's often best to use what is at hand. From an aesthetic point of view, it'll fit right in.
