The winners of The Block 2014, and owners of their own homeware store Alex and Corban Walls, clearly know interiors.
It's not all that surprising that their family beach house in Whananaki, Northland, is refined casual, with an envious hanging chair in the corner of the sunny living room, that Alex says is the best spot in the house.
But it's not quite finished. The pair have plans to install floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of their picturesque surrounds.
This summer they're heading out of the city to relax in the sun and entertain with friends, "we sit around the dining table all night chatting, laughing and eating great food," says Alex.
Describe your house in two sentences:
Our family beach house is a low lying modular house set among native planting on the estuary in Whananaki North. Clad with native Douglas Fir for its natural durability and floor to ceiling glass windows for us to enjoy the panoramic view of the water and surrounding hills.
