Garden of the week: Roses in Timaru

Established trees and lawns, paths through shady shrubberies, carpets of bulbs, topiaried hedging, rose and perennial borders, bricked terraces, a pond. It could be an expansive English heritage estate รข€“ but viewed through the wrong end of a telescope. Jenny and Graeme McLauchlan's cleverly scaled garden has all these elements condensed onto a quarter-acre city section in Timaru.
